Yoshiko Shibata Niemann graduated from Tamagawa University with an associate degree in English and a bachelor's in environmental design from Minneapolis College of Art & Design in 1988.

She worked as an interior designer at Atelier-U in Los Angeles serving clients like Yoshinoya from 1986 to 1990. Strongly influenced by her parents who enjoy oil painting, she started painting in 1983.

Inspired by where she currently lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, she paints landscapes, portraits, and wildlife. She also paints commissioned projects.
